Whenever you have a system of equations, try to subtract one from the other. When you do so, you should be able to isolate one of the variables, x or y. If you can't, then multiply one or both of the equations to make sure one variable is isolated. For example, 4x+3y = 9                     3x+2y = 5You would multiply the entire top equation by 3, and the bottom equation by 4, resulting in:12x+9y = 2712x+8y = 20Hope this helps you.
