Virus is like its own thing, it's not a cell. It's composed of a RNA core and a protein coat.

viruses technically are not living things; viruses are just DNA/ RNA fragments covered with protein capsid. That is all there is. Some people consider it a prokaryotic cell but viruses are not livinh things they are obligate parasites. so technically viruses don't belong to prokaryotes because prokaryotes are living things.
