number line up like this-4 < -3 < -2 < -1 < 0 < 1 < 2 < 3 < 4so if a < b then we use -4 compare to -3 and we get -4 < -3, and -(a) > -(b) means -(-4) > -(-3) and we know negative negative equal postive so 4 > 3. Hope this helps.

because you divided both sides by a negative 1. and whe you didi by a negative the inequatlity sign changes. also to double check you can plug in actual numbers
