I need help...In this video when you have y=-2x-5 and then you add 2x to both sides how do you end up with 2x+y=5 ?? I don't understand

Hi Eliana, The answer is 2x+y=-5 which is the standard form, same equation as y=-2x-5 (slope intercept form). It's just rearranged to get the standard form.

When you add 2x to both sides, you get 2x + y = 2x-2x -5 (I just put the 2x you add to both sides in front of each side) the 2x-2x winds up canceling out, leaving just 2x + y = -5
