Ben - You have a couple of ways to solve this. (1) Complete the square to get this parabola in vertex form. (2) Use the formula for the vertex = [-b/2a , f(-b/2a)] The axis of symmetry is the line that divides the parabola equally.  For your problem, this will equal the line x= -b/2a Hope this helped

the formula is -b/2a.  a is 4, and b is 24.  So you have -24/2(4). -24/8-3The vertex is -3

the axis of symmetry is a vertical line that has the equation x=-3, because -3 is where the vertex is.
