To solve this problem, I would first get rid of my fractions by finding a common denominator which in this case is 20. So you multiply each term by 20 which gets rid of the denominators and leaves you with: 4y + 15=10y + 15. Then you put all of your like terms on one side to get 6y=0. Then you solve for y to get y=0.  Another way to look at it is that both sides have a 3/4 so they can cancel leaving you with y/5 = y/2 which is impossible unless y is 0.
