I assume that log2 64 means log[base 2](64), which means 2^(something)=64.  This we can figure out without a calculator: 2^2 = 4, 2^3 = 8, 2^4 = 16, 2^5 = 32, 2^6 =64.  So  log2 64 = 6, which means your equation is now:x - 4 = 6Which is much easier :-)
