louisamarie - The Surface Area is simply the "sum" of the areas of each "face" of the pyramid. Surface Area does NOT include the area of the base, only the sides! If each side is a triangle, than the area of a triangle is (1/2)(b)(h). Do this for each side of the pyramid and simply add them up. Hope that helps.
