C.  If you used water (which has been done) you would need a tube over 30 feet tall.  Figure Hg is 13.6 times the density of water.  760 mm of Hg is supported by 1 atmosphere of pressure.  That is 76 cm or 29.92 inches.  A water barometer would be 13.6 times as high or 33.9 feet!
